westbourne grammar school

  • The new Middle Years Learning Centre at Westbourne Grammar School in Truganina, Victoria, is a three-storey facility forming part of the school’s long-term masterplan to enhance its learning facilities. This accommodates Years 5–8, with 32 learning areas, a lecture theatre, health and wellbeing centre, staff spaces, and a student-run café.

P&R Mechanical Services’ Scope of Works included energy-efficient VRF & HVRF systems for classrooms with CO₂-based demand control, and dedicated air handling units for larger spaces such as the lecture theatre. The café includes compliant kitchen exhaust and make-up air systems under AS 1668 standards. A central Building Management System (BMS) integrates scheduling, metering, and fault diagnostics, with heat recovery and demand-based control to support NCC 2022 energy compliance. Overall, the building’s mechanical design aligns with Westbourne Grammar’s high-comfort principles, supporting the school’s goal of a modern, healthy, and sustainable learning environment.
